Flyers 6, Red Wings 3: Sean Couturier had two goals and two assists, including the go-ahead tally in the third period, as visiting Philadelphia snapped Detroit's four-game winning streak.

Scott Hartnell and Matt Read each collected a goal and two assists and Steve Downie and captain Claude Giroux scored on the power play as the Flyers ripped off five unanswered goals to improve to 9-3-1 in their last 12 and win for only the second time in Detroit since 1989. Steve Mason turned aside 32 shots to move to 7-1-1 in his last nine appearances.

Tomas Tatar scored a pair of goals and Johan Franzen also connected for the Red Wings, who were missing their top two scorers due to injury. Jimmy Howard made 28 saves in falling to 1-4-4 in his last nine starts.

The Red Wings scored twice in a span of 1:49 midway through the second period to take a 3-1 lead. Franzen ripped a bullet past Steve Mason at 8:24 before Tatar converted on a scramble in front, but Read cut the deficit to a goal with 3:22 left in the period.

Giroux pulled Philadelphia even at 5:15 of the third on the power play, beating a screened Howard from the top of the left circle before Couturier deflected Read's shot home at 8:28. Hartnell provided insurance with a turnaround one-timer 1:30 later before Couturier capped his four-point night with an empty-net tally
