Canucks 7, Predators 4: Andrew Ebbett recorded a goal and two assists for his first three points of the season as host Vancouver posted its second straight victory following a four-game winless streak.

Jannik Hansen also notched a goal and two assists while Mason Raymond, defenseman Alex Edler, Maxim Lapierre and captain Henrik Sedin all had one of each for the Canucks, who restored their two-point lead in the Northwest Division. David Booth added an empty-netter and Roberto Luongo made 29 saves in his second straight start.

Matt Halischuk scored his first of the season and added an assist for the Predators, who have one win in their last eight road games (1-6-1). Mike Fisher, Nick Spaling and Gabriel Bourque also tallied while Pekka Rinne allowed four goals on 12 shots before being relieved by Chris Mason, who made seven saves.

Playing his seventh game of the season and second since being recalled to replace rookie Jordan Schroeder, Ebbett opened the scoring 85 seconds into the game by converting a feed from Hansen after Rinne misplayed a dump-in.

That set the tone for Rinne’s night, which ended 5:32 into the second period after Lapierre made it 4-1 by hopping out of the penalty box to receive a breakaway pass and shooting the puck between the goaltender’s pads. Nashville got within 5-4 before Sedin converted a penalty-shot attempt with 2:34 remaining in the third.

The Predators registered 26 shots in the final 40 minutes but finished 0-for-4 on the power play, marking the first time in four games they failed to score with the man advantage.
