Bruins 3, Lightning 2: Brad Marchand scored the winning goal on the power play with 2:16 remaining in the third period as Boston defeated visiting Tampa Bay for its sixth straight victory.

Marchand collected his team-leading 11th goal off a pass from Patrice Bergeron on a 2-on-1 after a shot by Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos missed the Boston net and the puck caromed to the middle of the ice. Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley also scored goals for the Bruins and Anton Khudobin made 20 saves.

Stamkos, who was playing his 300th consecutive game, and Alex Killorn scored for the Lightning. Mathieu Garon made 24 saves and Teddy Purcell recorded a pair of assists for Tampa Bay, which lost its fourth consecutive contest.

The Lightning scored twice against the NHL’s top penalty killing unit in the first period to seize a 2-0 lead. Stamkos beat Khudobin from below the left faceoff circle at 5:32, and Killorn deked the Bruins' goalie and scored on the backhand at 8:38.

Seguin produced the Bruins’ first power-play goal at home this season from the left circle, one-timing rookie defenseman Dougie Hamilton's pass at 3:22 of the second. Peverley tied it 1:17 later from virtually the same spot after the Lightning left him alone, and Boston killed off a double minor for high sticking to defenseman Andrew Ference late in the second session to keep it even.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lightning LW Benoit Pouliot suffered an upper-body injury in the first period and did not return. … Bruins LW Jay Pandolfo was in the lineup for the second time since being signed as a free agent on Feb. 12. … Tampa Bay D Brendan Mikkelson’s double minor for high sticking with 5:39 left allowed the Bruins to get the power play that led to the winner.
