Knicks 99, 76ers 93: Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points and Amar'e Stoudemire added a season-high 22 off the bench as host New York snapped a four-game losing streak.
J.R. Smith hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with 14 points as the Knicks handed reeling Philadelphia its fifth consecutive defeat.
Jrue Holiday scored 30 points and Evan Turner added 21 for the Sixers, who also lost their eighth straight road game and dropped four games back of eighth-place Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference.
Stoudemire, who missed the first two months of the season, was in the middle of two decisive runs. He scored six points in a 17-2 burst to open the second quarter as New York forged ahead 41-24, and scored eight points in an 11-4 spurt at the outset of the fourth quarter for an 87-71 edge.
Philadelphia could not get that deficit under 10 until Jeremy Pargo hit a 3-pointer with 1:38 left. Spencer Hawes had a tip-in to make it 98-93 with 43 seconds to play.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Knicks point guard Raymond Felton (14 points) suffered a bruised right heel in the third quarter but returned midway through the fourth. ... Sixers F Thaddeus Young was back in the lineup after missing six games with a hamstring injury and finished with 11 points and 10 boards. ... Anthony received a flagrant foul and teammate Tyson Chandler and Philadelphia's Spencer Hawes were assessed technicals during a mild third-quarter skirmish.
