Jake Bean scored 55 seconds into overtime as the Columbus Blue Jackets snapped a five-game road losing streak with a 5-4 victory against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night.

Bean took a drop pass from Jakub Voracek just outside the top of the right faceoff circle and skated nearly to the dot before placing a wrist shot into the far side of the net.

Max Domi had two goals and an assist, while Bean, Oliver Bjorkstrand and Jack Roslovic each had a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets, who recovered after blowing a three-goal lead in the third period. Voracek and Boone Jenner both had two assists, and goaltender Elvis Merzlikins made 28 saves.

Jared McCann, Jaden Schwartz, Morgan Geekie and Vince Dunn scored for Seattle, and goalie Philipp Grubauer stopped 24 of 29 shots. The Kraken went 0-2-1 on their homestand while being outscored 14-5.

After a scoreless first period, the Blue Jackets unleashed a four-goal barrage in the second.

Bjorkstrand opened the scoring at 8:13 of the second on a wrist shot from the left faceoff dot and Roslovic made it 2-0 at 11:40, tipping Domi's shot from the top of the left faceoff circle past Grubauer.

After McCann got the Kraken on the board at 13:46 of the second, floating a shot over Merzlikins from the high slot, Domi scored at 16:43 and 19:34 to make it 4-1.

The expansion Kraken tied it with three unanswered goals in the third.

Schwartz made it 4-2 at 3:42 of the period, as Joonas Donskoi's shot from the top of the right faceoff circle deflected off the back of his leg while he set a screen at the top of the crease.

Geekie scored on a wrister from the high slot just 22 seconds later to pull Seattle within a goal.

Dunn tied it at 15:54, jumping off the bench and taking a pass from Adam Larsson before beating Merzlikins with a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle.

The Kraken were without forwards Yanni Gourde and Riley Sheahan, who were both placed in the COVID-19 protocol earlier in the day.
