Grizzlies 88, Rockets 87: Courtney Lee scored 19 points and Zach Randolph added 15 as visiting Memphis survived a memorable shooting performance by Houston’s Chandler Parsons.

Parsons scored a career-best 34 points and set an NBA record with 10 3-pointers in a single half but the Grizzlies held on in the first of back-to-back games between the teams. Mike Conley tallied 14 points for Memphis, which has won six of its last seven games and defeated a Southwest Division rival for the first time in 11 attempts this season.

Parsons made all of his franchise-record 10 3-pointers while scoring 30 second-half points for the Rockets, who lost for just the second time in eight games. Dwight Howard had 11 points and 12 rebounds and James Harden had 13 assists but only 10 points.

Parsons' ninth 3-pointer of the game gave the Rockets an 83-82 lead with 4:22 remaining and his final one pulled Houston within 88-87 with 1:51 to play. Neither team scored again and the Grizzlies double-teamed Parsons in the final seconds and he was forced to pass the ball to Patrick Beverley, whose 3-pointer was off the mark at the buzzer.

Memphis led by as many as 13 points and held Houston to 33.3 percent shooting en route to a 44-35 halftime lead. The Rockets began the second half with a 17-3 run to take a five-point lead and the game was tied at 64 entering the final stanza.
