Jon Gray allowed just two hits into the seventh inning, Daniel Murphy had a two-run double, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 in Denver on Saturday night for their seventh straight win.

Gray, who had his second scoreless outing this season, struck out seven in 6 2/3 innings. Nolan Arenado went 1-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.

David Dahl added three hits for Colorado, which has won eight of nine on its homestand. A win Sunday would tie the franchise record for wins in a 10-game homestand.

Marcus Stroman (3-7) pitched seven strong innings and Justin Smoak homered for Toronto, which has lost five in a row. Stroman allowed seven hits but just three after the first inning and didn't walk a batter.

The Rockies got to Stroman in the first inning. With one out, Trevor Story and Arenado hit consecutive singles to make it 1-0.

Murphy followed with a double that just got by the diving Jonathan Davis in center field to score two more and make it 3-0.

Stroman retired 10 of the next 12 batters before the Rockies added another run in the fifth. Raimel Tapia hit a one-out double to center that Davis misplayed, allowing Tapia to get to third. The relay throw from second baseman Cavan Biggio got past third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. into the Toronto dugout, allowing Tapia to score to make it 4-0.

The Blue Jays threatened in the sixth. Guerrero reached on a two-out double, just the second Toronto hit, and Smoak lined a ball to right field. Dahl got a good jump on it and made a diving catch to end the inning.

Gray (5-4) struck out the first two batters in the seventh but walked the next two and left after 87 pitches. Jairo Diaz got Davis to ground into a fielder's choice to close the seventh.

Smoak led off the ninth with a home run to dead center, his 12th of the season, and Danny Jansen had an RBI double to make it 4-2. Scott Oberg got the last out for his second save.
