Mets 6, Marlins 1: R.A. Dickey struck out 10 in a complete-game gem to become the National League's first 15-game winner and Andres Torres homered and drove in three runs as New York snapped a nine-game home losing skid.
Dickey (15-3), who tied Los Angeles Angels stud Jered Weaver for the most wins in the majors, defeated the Marlins for the sixth consecutive time - and third this season. The veteran knuckleballer also ended Jose Reyes' career-high 26-game hitting streak after retiring the former Mets shortstop in all four at-bats.
Dickey allowed one run on five hits and retired the last 10 batters he faced en route to his National League-leading fourth complete game of the season.
Torres, who collected three hits and was a single shy of the cycle, snapped a tie with an RBI double in the fourth inning. Torres then provided insurance with a two-out solo homer in the sixth to improve to 5-for-5 in his career versus Josh Johnson (7-8), who fell to 8-2 lifetime against the Mets.
New York's Ruben Tejada matched Carlos Lee's 14-game hitting streak with a leadoff single in the third inning. Josh Thole had a pair of RBI singles and David Wright also had a run-scoring single for the Mets, who posted their first home win since recording a 3-1 triumph over the Chicago Cubs on July 7.
Justin Ruggiano leveled the contest at 1-1 in the fourth inning by crushing a first-pitch fastball from Dickey for a solo homer.
