Brennan Boesch's three-run homer capped a six-run seventh inning and led the Detroit Tigers to a 7-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.

Armando Galarraga made his first start since losing a perfect game on a blown call by umpire Jim Joyce with two outs in the ninth inning last Wednesday against Cleveland. He pitched five innings, giving up seven hits, two walks and two strikeouts and wasn’t involved in the decision.

Galarraga gave up Mark Kotsay's two-run homer in the fourth.

The Tigers trailed 2-1 going into the seventh. Ryan Rayburn's two-run double gave Detroit the lead before Boesch homered off Matt Thornton.

Carlos Guillen added a solo home run off Scott Linebrink. He finished with three hits and two RBIs.

Brad Thomas (3-0) pitched two scoreless innings for the win. Thornton (2-3) was tagged for five runs and three hits in one-third of an inning.

The bullpen meltdown spoiled a terrific outing by Chicago starter Gavin Floyd, who allowed one run and six hits in six innings. He struck out eight and walked two.
