Marlins 2, Mets 1 (20):
Adeiny Hechavarria delivered an RBI single with one out in the top of the 20th inning to lift visiting Miami to a marathon win.

The tiebreaking hit helped the Marlins improve to 7-3 against New York, compared to 10-41 against all other teams, and was part of a frustrating day and night for the Mets, who lost star right-hander Matt Harvey to lower back tightness after seven innings and finished 0-for-19 with runners in scoring position, a franchise record.

Placido Polanco and Rob Brantly both singled with one out in the 20th against Shaun Marcum (0-7), a starter who was in his eighth inning of relief. Hechavarria then dropped a base hit into center to snap the tie, and Marlins closer Steve Cishek retired the side in order in the bottom half to record his sixth save.

Kevin Slowey (2-5), like Marcum originally scheduled to make a start in the series before a rainout Friday forced the teams to shuffle their rotations, got the win after throwing seven scoreless innings of relief. Harvey allowed a run and six hits in seven innings but left after throwing warmup pitches for the eighth.

Juan Lagares gave New York an early 1-0 lead with an RBI double in the second. Chris Coghlan's sacrifice fly tied it in the fourth, and that's where the score stayed until the Marlins ended the 6-hour, 25-minute affair.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami starter Jose Fernandez limited the Mets to a run and three hits in six frames. ... The Mets called up veteran RHP reliever David Aardsma from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned RHP Collin McHugh to Las Vegas. Aardsma pitched the 12th. ... Marcum was charged with a run on five hits in eight frames, retiring 16 straight at one point ... This was the longest home game for the Mets since they played 25 innings against St. Louis at Shea Stadium in 1974. It was the fifth game of at least 20 innings in franchise history.
