DJ Peters recorded four hits, including two home runs, and drove in four runs to lead the Texas Rangers to a 7-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday afternoon in Anaheim, Calif.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa contributed three hits and scored twice for the Rangers in the third game of the four-game series.
Rangers left-hander Taylor Hearn won his third consecutive start, allowing three runs and seven hits in a career-high seven innings. Hearn (5-4) struck out four and didn't walk a batter.
Jo Adell hit two home runs and drove in all three runs for the Angels, who won the first two games of the series.
Angels starter Janson Junk made his major league debut just over a month after he was acquired in a trade with the New York Yankees.
Junk (0-1) allowed five runs (one earned) and six hits in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out two and walked one.
Junk was on the verge of getting through the third inning cleanly, but the Rangers scored four unearned runs with two outs to take a 5-0 lead.
After Junk retired the first two batters, Kiner-Falefa singled and Adolis Garcia walked.
Nathaniel Lowe followed with a one-hopper that nicked off Junk's glove and went to shortstop Luis Rengifo. Rengifo had time to retire Lowe, but his throw sailed over the head of first baseman Phil Gosselin, allowing a run to score.
Peters then launched a three-run blast on the next pitch for a 5-0 lead.
Peters also homered in the second inning, a solo shot that went off the tip of Brandon Marsh's glove in center.
Adell homered to lead off the fourth, but Hearn retired the next seven batters.
The Rangers got the run back with a bases-loaded walk in the fifth, and Kiner-Falefa added an RBI single in the sixth to make it 7-1.
Adell went deep again in the sixth for the second multi-homer game of his MLB career, a two-run opposite-field shot that cut the lead to 7-3.
Kyle Tyler threw three innings of scoreless relief for the Angels in his MLB debut.
