Willians Astudillo had three RBIs, Stephen Gonsalves pitched six strong relief innings and the visiting Minnesota Twins completed a three-game sweep with an 8-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers Wednesday afternoon.

Gonsalves (1-2) allowed one hit, one walk and struck out four to earn his first career major-league win.

Robbie Grossman and Ehire Adrianza each had three hits and Tyler Austin added two hits and two RBIs for the Twins, who have won four in a row.

The Twins (71-81) have a 10-6 lead in the season series with the Tigers (61-91).

Gabriel Moya opened for the Twins, hitting a batter and allowing a single in the first inning before a double play ended the frame. He was replaced by Gonsalves in the second.

Detroit's Spencer Turnbull (0-1) allowed six runs, six hits and one walk in four innings in his first career major-league start and second appearance.

The Twins scored four runs in the second. Grossman led off with a single, Max Kepler walked, and Austin and Adrianza hit RBI singles. After a balk, groundouts by Astudillo and Gregorio Petit scored two more runs.

Minnesota increased the lead to 6-0 in the fourth. Austin singled with one out and scored on a throwing error charged to right fielder Mikie Mahtook on Adrianza's double. Astudillo hit an RBI double.

Buck Farmer replaced Turnbull and pitched around a fifth-inning infield single.

Detroit's Matt Hall pitched a perfect sixth and overcame a two-out walk in the top of the seventh before allowing two runs in the eighth. Grossman had an infield single, took second on a groundout, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on Austin's sacrifice fly. Adrianza doubled and scored on Astudillo's single.

Gonsalves, who walked JaCoby Jones with two out in the third, retired eight straight batters before Jones singled with one out in the bottom of the sixth. The inning ended with a double play.

Addison Reed replaced Gonsalves and pitched a perfect eighth.

Detroit's Blaine Hardy, who got the final out of the top of the eighth, pitched around a ninth-inning leadoff double.

Minnesota's Alan Busenitz allowed a single, a walk, and then an RBI double to Nicholas Castellanos and a sacrifice fly to Mahtook in the bottom of the ninth inning.
