Jason Heyward had four hits and drove in two runs, and Albert Almora Jr. went 3-for-3 with two RBIs before departing with muscle cramps to lead the Chicago Cubs to their third straight victory, 14-9 over the Minnesota Twins, on Saturday afternoon at a steamy Wrigley Field in Chicago.

It was the third four-hit game of the season for Heyward, all coming in June. Almora nearly joined him but was robbed of an extra-base hit by Twins center fielder Jake Cave, who made a highlight-reel diving catch in right-center field in the fourth inning that ended up as a sacrifice fly.

Ben Zobrist added two hits and three RBIs and third baseman David Bote scored three runs for Chicago. The Cubs, who bashed four homers in a 10-6 win in Friday's series opener, finished with 20 hits, 17 of which were singles to go along with three doubles.

Justin Wilson (2-2), who pitched a scoreless seventh, picked up the win in relief.

On a 95-degree day with a heat index hovering around 110, Minnesota's Joe Mauer continued his hot heating at Wrigley with two hits and three RBIs. Eddie Rosario and Ehire Adrianza both had two hits and two RBIs for Minnesota, which lost for the seventh time in nine games. Mauer improved to 11-for-23 with two homers and 12 RBIs in five career games at Wrigley Field.

Trevor Hildenberger (1-2), who retired just one of nine batters he faced during a five-run Cubs' seventh, took the loss.

Mauer gave Minnesota a 3-0 lead in the second inning when he lined a bases-loaded double to center field. It was the 412th career double for Mauer, just two shy of Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett (414) for first place on Twins' all-time list.

The Cubs tied it in the third, parlaying five singles into three runs including an RBI single by Anthony Rizzo and a two-run single by Zobrist.

Chicago took a 4-3 lead in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Almora, driving in Bote, who opened the inning with a walk, was sacrificed to second by starter Tyler Chatwood and then advanced to third on a wild pitch.

Rosario, who left the game with one out in the bottom of the fifth with what was called "heat related illness," hit a two-run homer in the top half and Adrianza added a two-run single to give the Twins a 7-4 lead.

The Cubs answered with seven singles during a five-run, 10-batter fifth that began and ended with strikeouts by Javier Baez and featured Almora pulling up and leaving with an injury after blooping a go-ahead RBI single down the left field line. Bote, Ian Happ and Heyward also had RBI singles during the inning and Zobrist added a sacrifice fly as Chicago took a 9-7 lead.

Minnesota tied it at 9 in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Eduardo Escobar and an RBI single by Rosario's replacement, Willians Astudillo, in his first major league at-bat.

Heyward's RBI single in the five-run seventh proved to be the game-winner. Baez was credited with a two-run double that bounced off the glove of Adrianza, and Addison Russell also had an RBI single as the Cubs sent 11 men to the plate.
