Twins 4, Rangers 3: Texas closer Joakim Soria could not handle Danny Santana's grounder in front of the mound in the bottom of the ninth inning and allowed the winning run to score as host Minnesota rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the final frame.

Oswaldo Arcia began the uprising with a one-out double and Eduardo Nunez drove him in with a two-out single to right. Kurt Suzuki reached on a fielder's choice when Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre failed to tag Nunez running from second and, after Eduardo Escobar was walked intentionally, Soria (1-2) fielded Santana's little roller but bobbled it as Nunez scored from third.

Chris Gimenez delivered an RBI single in the sixth that gave the Rangers a 3-2 lead and Alex Rios recorded his seventh straight multi-hit game with three, including a triple and a double. Scott Baker yielded two runs and three hits in six innings as a replacement for ace Yu Darvish, who could not go because of a stiff neck.

Arcia also homered, Joe Mauer drove in a run and Glen Perkins (2-0) pitched a scoreless ninth as Minnesota snapped its four-game losing sreak. The Twins trailed 2-0 before Arcia led off the bottom of the second by driving a 1-1 pitch over the wall in right-center and tied it in the third on back-to-back doubles by Brian Dozier and Mauer.

Minnesota center fielder Aaron Hicks made an amazing play in the second inning, when he reached over the wall to take a three-run homer away from Donnie Murphy. The result was a sacrifice fly and Rougned Odor followed with a run-scoring double down the left-field line to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Darvish woke up Tuesday with the same ailment that forced him to start the season on the disabled list. ... Minnesota starter Phil Hughes, who was 5-0 with a 1.60 ERA in his previous six outings, allowed three runs and eight hits in seven innings. ... Texas' Ron Washington managed his 1,187th game, passing Bobby Valentine for the most in franchise history. He has won a franchise-record 637 contests.
