Rockies 4, Phillies 1: Chris Nelson hit the go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning as visiting Colorado avoided a sweep in Philadelphia.
The Rockies couldn't get anything going against Vance Worley (3-4) over the first six innings, but went ahead for good with two runs in the seventh. Tyler Colvin reached on a one-out double down the left-field line and Nelson followed two batters later with a blast that barely cleared the center-field fence for his fifth home run of the season.
Wilin Rosario provided some insurance in the ninth, drilling a line-drive shot over the wall in left for his 11th homer as the Rockies prevailed for just the second time in the last 14 games.
Josh Roenicke (2-0) earned the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while Rafael Betancourt recorded the final three outs for his 11th save.
Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins opened the game in style, ripping a 2-2 pitch from Colorado left-hander Jeff Francis 10 rows deep into the left-field seats for his 39th career leadoff home run.
That was all Philadelphia could muster against Francis, who limited the Phillies to six hits while striking out three. He didn't walk a batter.
Worley surrendered two runs on four hits over seven frames.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Nelson has three homers and seven RBIs in his last six games. ... Juan Pierre's bunt single in the fifth inning was his eighth of the season, tops in the National League. ... Francis was pulled after throwing just 76 pitches as manager Jim Tracy continues to keep his starters on a short leash while going with a four-man rotation. ... Only Chicago Cubs slugger Alfonso Soriano (54) has more leadoff homers than Rollins.
