Carlos Quentin belted three homers and had five RBIs to power the visiting Chicago White Sox to an 8-6 win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday in a game that featured the evacuation of fans and a three-hour delay due to severe weather warnings.

Quentin clubbed solo homers in the first and ninth inning and had a three-run blast in the third for Chicago. It was his first career three-homer game and gave him 12 for the season.

Play was delayed for 2 hours, 58 minutes in the fourth inning because of high winds in excess of 30 mph and thunderstorm warnings in the North Texas area.

Following the delay, the Rangers tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth with two runs – an RBI double by Elvis Andrus and a sacrifice fly by Michael Young.

But the White Sox responded with two runs in the sixth, highlighted by Adam Dunn’s solo blast and Brent Morel’s run-scoring single.

Because of the lengthy interruption, neither starting pitcher got a decision in the game that lasted six-plus hours.

Texas left-hander Derek Holland went four innings, allowing four runs on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Reliever Brett Tomko (0-1) took the loss.

Chicago right-hander Jake Peavy lasted three innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Reliever Tony Pena (1-1) got the victory despite getting tagged for two runs and three hits in one inning.
