Enrique Hernandez hit a three-run home run with two outs in the eighth inning and the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers extended their winning streak to six games with a 5-3 victory Friday over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Hernandez connected on an 0-2 pitch against Brewers All-Star closer Josh Hader (0-1) to break a 2-2 tie and score A.J. Pollock and David Freese, both of whom walked. It was Hernandez's fifth home run of the season.

Christian Yelich hit a home run for the second consecutive game and for the sixth time in five games as the Brewers lost their third consecutive game overall and their third consecutive against the Dodgers since Sunday. Milwaukee's Eric Thames hit his third home run in the eighth.

Pedro Baez (1-1) recorded two outs in the seventh inning to pick up the victory. Kenley Jansen pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his seventh save and his third in three days.

Yelich gave the Brewers a 2-0 lead in the first inning against Dodgers starter Ross Striping when he sent a first-pitch slider into the seats in right field. All 11 of his home runs have come in 12 home games. He has no home runs and only two RBIs in nine road games.

Yelich not only tied the club record for March/April home runs with 10 April games remaining, he moved two homers off Prince Fielder's club record for any month set in May of 2007.

Stripling settled down to give up just two more hits, but he lasted just 4 2/3 innings after throwing 84 pitches.

Brewers starter Jhoulys Chacin rebounded after a rough start against the Dodgers last weekend when he gave up six runs in 2 1/3 innings. On Friday he gave up two runs on five hits over five innings with three walks and five strikeouts.

The Dodgers got one run back in the second inning on Alex Verdugo's RBI double to left-center field. They tied it 2-2 in the third inning when Cody Bellinger nearly hit his 11th home run, but settled for a sacrifice fly to the warning track in left, instead.

The Dodgers had a prime chance to take the lead in the seventh inning with one out and the bases loaded, but Justin Turner struck out against Junior Guerra and Bellinger whiffed against Hader.

Lorenzo Cain, who scored on Yelich's home run, delivered his 1,000th career hit when he led off the game for the Brewers with a single.
