LOS ANGELES -- For the second game in a row, the Miami Marlins were victims of a walk-off.

Left fielder Scott Van Slyke delivered a three-run home run in the ninth inning, lifting the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the Marlins on Monday night at Dodger Stadium.

Van Slyke's homer, which came off Marlins reliever Steve Cishek (1-3), occurred after Miami left fielder Christian Yelich homered off reliever Yimi Garcia in the top of the ninth for a 3-2 Marlins lead.

After Cishek issued a walk to catcher Yasmani Grandal and gave up a single to right fielder Andre Ethier with one out in the bottom of the inning, Van Slyke drilled a 1-0 pitch for the game-winner.

"I felt good, and (I am) seeing the ball well," said Van Slyke, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. "I thought there was a good chance I could square something up."

The Marlins were coming off a 3-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. Cishek, who has blown three saves this season, squandered a lead by allowing two runs in the ninth, a bases-loaded walk and Matt Duffy's RBI single being the difference.

"Anytime you have leads late and you can't hold onto them, it crushes you," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "That's back-to-back games we had opportunities to win and couldn't lock them down. It's tough. You've got to win those games. You've got to win the games you're supposed to win."

Van Slyke also made a standout defensive play in the seventh that saved a run. With the bases loaded and one out, Miami shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria stroked a liner to Van Slyke, who made a running catch and followed it with a strong throw to the plate to nail Yelich trying to score from third.

"There was a lot of action out there," Van Slyke said. "A lot more than I'm used to."

Reliever J.P. Howell (2-1) threw five pitches in one-third of an inning for the win as the Dodgers (21-10) captured their fourth in a row.

Marlins center fielder Marcell Ozuna rallied the Marlins (15-18) from a one-run deficit in the seventh, burying a solo home run halfway up the pavilion in left-center off Dodgers starter Zack Greinke to tie the score at 1. It was Ozuna's third home run of the season.

Center fielder Joc Pedersen drove in Van Slyke in the bottom of the seventh for a 2-1 Los Angeles lead before Miami rallied in the ninth.

Second baseman Dee Gordon faced the Dodgers for the first time since they traded him to Miami in a multi-player, offseason deal. Gordon went 0-for-4 with a walk and was caught stealing. He recorded a defensive gem, though, gloving a grounder by Grandal and delivering a behind-the-back throw to first baseman Michael Morse to end the sixth inning.

In the fourth, Los Angeles second baseman Howie Kendrick hit a one-out double over the head of right fielder Giancarlo Stanton, then came home on third baseman Justin Turner's grounder to short for a 1-0 lead.

Stanton got some revenge in the fifth. He snagged a line drive by shortstop Jimmy Rollins and doubled off Pederson with a throw to first to end the inning. Stanton's play also prevented Van Slyke, who led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on a sacrifice by Greinke, from scoring as Morse fielded Stanton's throw just before Van Slyke touched home plate.

"Seems like he was on base every time," Greinke said of Van Slyke. "After that play, I think he got another hit. I said 'Dang, Slyke's doing it all today.' He always looks good in the outfield. I don't think he gets enough credit, but he always does a good job out there."

Neither starting pitcher factored in the decision. Greinke pitched six innings of one-run ball, while Miami's Tom Koehler threw six innings of one-run ball.
