Angels 7, Indians 1: Hank Conger belted a two-run homer and C.J. Wilson pitched eight dominant innings as host Los Angeles completed a three-game sweep.
Wilson (4-2) struck out eight and allowed one run on two hits, retiring the final 18 batters he faced as the Angels moved above .500 for the first time this season. Mike Trout and David Freese each had a hit and two RBIs, while Albert Pujols doubled and knocked in his 23rd run with a sacrifice fly.
David Murphy delivered an RBI single for skidding Cleveland, which tumbled to its sixth consecutive defeat. Zach McAllister (3-2), pitching on three days' rest for the first time in his career, lasted 4 1/3 innings and was tagged for five runs - four earned - on four hits and four walks.
The Indians scratched out a run off Wilson in the second when Asdrubal Cabrera was hit by a pitch, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on Murphy's two-out single. Conger erased the deficit in the bottom of the frame when he drilled a two-run shot into a stiff wind in right field to put Los Angeles ahead to stay 2-1.
Howie Kendrick's single and a throwing error preceded Pujols' sacrifice fly in the third before the Angels tacked on two more runs in the fifth on Freese's two-out, two-run single off reliever Marc Rzepczynski for a 5-1 edge. Trout turned it into a rout with another two-out hit, a two-run double to deep center off Carlos Carrasco in the sixth.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Freese extending his hitting streak to five games and went 5-for-12 in the three-game set. ... Indians 2B Jason Kipnis, who left Tuesday's game with an abdominal strain, reported feeling better Wednesday and will continue treatment while the team decides if a trip to the 15-day disabled list is necessary. ... Conger's blast was the first homer allowed by McAllister in 37 innings, dating to Sept. 20, 2013.
