Blue Jays 8, Rangers 0: Mark Buehrle threw seven sensational innings and Colby Rasmus hit a three-run homer as visiting Toronto cruised past reeling Texas.
Buehrle (3-4) limited the Rangers to four hits for the second consecutive outing, walking one and striking out seven. J.P. Arencibia added a solo homer while Edwin Encarnacion had two hits and scored twice.
Justin Grimm (5-5) allowed seven runs on 10 hits over 7 2/3 innings as the Rangers dropped their fourth in a row. Texas has been held to five runs during the slide.
With Buehrle and Grimm locked in a pitchers' duel through three innings, Toronto broke it open with a pair of homers in the fourth. Rasmus drilled an 0-2 pitch just over the right-field wall with Encarnacion and Adam Lind aboard, and Arencibia followed with a solo blast that barely eluded the grasp of left fielder Leonys Martin.
Lind's RBI single down the left-field line extended the lead in the fifth, and Melky Cabrera's run-scoring groundout made it 6-0 in the seventh. Maicer Izturis added to the onslaught in the eighth with an RBI double and Rajai Davis capped the scoring with a ninth-inning sacrifice fly that scored Munenori Kawasaki.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Buehrle has posted quality starts in six of his last seven outings. ... Rangers SS Elvis Andrus was ejected in the sixth inning after arguing a called third strike with home plate umpire Eric Cooper. Andrus threw his bat onto the field before leaving the dugout. ... Grimm has been tagged for 19 runs over his last three starts, a span of 15 innings.
