Angels 7, Astros 2: Chris Iannetta belted a two-run homer and Howie Kendrick added a solo shot to back seven strong innings from Joe Blanton and lift visiting Los Angeles to its fifth consecutive victory.

Alberto Callaspo and Erick Aybar had two hits apiece and each contributed a two-run, bases-loaded single in a four-run fourth inning. Blanton (2-10) made it stand up, limiting Houston to two runs on three hits to notch his first win since May 23. The burly hurler struck out six and beat the Astros for the first time in three starts this year.

Astros right-hander Jordan Lyles (4-3) lasted only four innings, matching his shortest outing of the year, and was tagged for four runs on five hits. He also walked two and hit a pair of batters in losing his second straight start.

Los Angeles right fielder Josh Hamilton made a pair of huge plays behind Blanton, leaping against the wall to snare a potential three-run homer by J.D. Martinez in the fourth and soaring above the wall in the seventh to take away a solo homer from Matt Dominguez. The latter catch came one batter after Brett Wallace had cut the deficit to 5-2 with a two-run homer.

Lyles hurt himself in the fourth by plunking two batters and walking one, leading to the two-run singles by Callaspo and Aybar for a 4-0 lead. Kendrick belted his ninth homer in the fifth before Wallace swatted his first in the seventh, but Iannetta restored the lead to five runs with his two-run blast in the eighth off Travis Blackley.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Angels CF Peter Bourjos was back in the starting lineup for the first time since suffering a bruised left thumb last Sunday, but he exited in the fourth inning after getting hit in the right wrist by a pitch and was sent to the hospital for X-rays. ... Astros SS Jake Elmore committed a pair of errors to push the team's major league-leading total to 65. ... Astros manager Bo Porter apologized to Angels counterpart Mike Scioscia on Saturday for an incident in Friday's game that caused Los Angeles C Hank Conger to let a foul pop drop. A player from Houston's dugout yelled "I got it" as Conger settled under the ball. He was initially charged with an error but the official scorer later erased it.
