MILWAUKEE -- Back-to-back home runs in the 12th inning by Derek Norris and Melvin Upton, Jr. gave the San Diego Padres an 8-7 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night at Miller Park.

San Diego issued 12 walks, committed four errors -- including two calls for catcher interference -- and let a 6-2 lead slip away over the final innings.

But after being held at bay by Milwaukee's bullpen from the fifth inning on, the Padres finally broke through with two outs in the 12th against left-hander Chris Capuano (1-1).

Jonathan Lucroy got Milwaukee back within a run, belting a one-out home run off Carlos Villanueva, who earned his first save of the season.

Matt Kemp had come into the game hitless in his previous 14 at-bats but finished a triple shy of the cycle. He got San Diego on the board with an RBI single in the first, drove in another run with a double in the third then followed a Wil Myers solo home run with one of his own in the fifth, giving the Padres a 6-2 lead.

With originally-scheduled starter Andrew Cashner on the disabled list, Padres manager Andy Green handed the game over to his relievers. Luis Perdomo got things started, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four over two innings in his first career start.

Both runs came from Kirk Nieuwenhuis whose two-run single in the first got Milwaukee on the board and kicked off a three-hit day. But the Brewers were stymied by the Padres' relievers until the seventh, when Nieuwenhuis made it a 6-3 game with another double and Chris Carter got the Brewers within two on a pinch-hit sacrifice fly.

A pair of defensive miscues let Milwaukee tie things up an inning later.

A catcher's interference call on Hector Sanchez -- his second of the game -- loaded the bases for Alex Presley, who singled on a sharp grounder that got past Myers and allowed Jonathan Lucroy to score.

Second baseman Jose Pirela fielded it and made an off-target throw that sailed past home plate, letting Domingo Santana come around to tie the game at 6-6 before Carter ended the inning with a flyout to right.

Milwaukee had the winning run in scoring position in the ninth when Jonathan Villar reached on an error by Myers and then stole second. But he was caught trying to steal third on Scooter Gennett's strikeout and the game went into extra innings.

The late fireworks took right-hander Wily Peralta off the hook after allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out three over 4 2/3 innings of work.

NOTES: The Padres recalled RHP Leonel Campos before the game from Triple-A El Paso, where he appeared in 10 games and posted a 5.93 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings of work. Campos also appeared in one game for San Diego this season, allowing seven runs -- five earned -- on four hits and a walk in one-third of an inning on April 21. ... Brewers RHPs Matt Garza (strained right lat) and Corey Kenbel (strained left oblique) are slated to throw off a mound this week. Both pitchers began the season on the disabled list. ... OF Ryan Braun was a late scratch from Milwaukee's starting lineup because of a sore right wrist. ... With RHP Andrew Cashner on the Padres' disabled list, RHP Luis Perdomo took his turn Saturday, the first start of his major league career.
