Dodgers 5, Pirates 3 (11): Juan Uribe delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the 11th inning as visiting Los Angeles blew a two-run lead before resuming its mastery of Pittsburgh.
Andre Ethier doubled to lead off the 11th and was sacrificed to third by Mark Ellis before Uribe delivered a hard grounder through the drawn-in infield to left off Vin Mazzaro (3-1). Nick Punto added a pinch-hit RBI double as the Dodgers won for the 13th time in 15 meetings with the Pirates.
Pittsburgh tied the game in the ninth inning when Travis Snider homered into the right-center bleachers off Kenley Jansen. The Pirates had runners at second and third with one out in the 11th before Andrew McCutchen grounded out and Gaby Sanchez lined out against Brandon League, who earned his 14th save.
Peter Moylan (1-0) pitched a scoreless 10th inning, Ethier finished with three hits and an RBI while Skip Schumaker and
Ellis also drove in runs for the Dodgers, who won for only the fourth
time in their last 16 road games. Los Angeles' Clayton Kershaw yielded one run, three hits and struck out eight in seven innings.
Pittsburgh's Brandon Cumpton made his major-league debut and allowed three runs and seven hits in five-plus innings. He struck out the first four batters he faced and five of the first six, and retired the first eight hitters before walking Kershaw.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Neil Walker's RBI single in the eighth inning brought Pittsburgh to within 3-2. ... Schumaker reached over the left-field wall to take a three-run homer away from Russell Martin in the sixth inning. ... Kershaw, whose ERA is 1.84, hasn't won since May 20 - a span of five starts (0-2).
